GPP Award – Polish edition
In April 2016 the winners of the Polish GPP Award, organized under the framework of Green ProcA project, were selected.
All submissions were evaluated by an independent jury according to criteria such as CO2 emission reduction, transferability, innovation, social responsibility and environmental performance of the municipality or institution.
In the category of cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants the following entities were honored:
GOLD – City of Lublin (Public Transport Authority in Lublin) for purchase and delivery of 70 units of new low-floor urban trolleybuses.
SILVER – City of Bydgoszcz (Municipal Roads and Public Transport Authority in Bydgoszcz) for refurbishment of street lighting (sodium to LEDs) and street lighting management system.
BRONZE – City of Gdynia (Trolleybus Communication Enterprise in Gdynia) for purchase of low-floor trolleybuses, reconstruction of trolleybus traction network, construction and reconstruction of traction substations and construction of the power disposal center.
In the category of municipalities from 10,000 to 100,000 inhabitants jury awarded one winning project:
GOLD – City of Lębork for Construction of a biomass-fired CHP plant as the primary heat source in the heating system of Lębork.
GOLD Winners were qualified to participate in the European Green Public Procurement Award (EU GPP Award).
